Interview With Us Baby Bear Bones
A FUGGY HUG OF MEATY MAGIC
Brighton trio Us Baby Bear Bones capture dreamy delusions and notions of nostalgia and rub them up into a furry, fuggy buzz, which is equal parts mesmerising, wide-eyed and fragile. The resultant sound is detailed and demure, yet rough and rude; sugarless yet honey-coated, with meaty beaty balls the size of an abstinent ursine.
The curious three piece – made up of the equally curious Puff Gandolfo, Daisy Emily Warne and Luke Phillips – formed at the beginning of the year and together decided to forever paw at the liberating stick of multi-instrumentalism. After being invited to play at The Great Escape in May, the band debuted their first video single (You) which has subsequently racked up 28,000 hits (see below).
Us Baby Bear Bones will be releasing a limited edition hand-created artwork pressing of their debut EP What Starts With A U Ends In An I via Brighton label Love Thy Neighbour in January. Until they wake from their winter slumber you can download Rain here. Like sleeping in trees and smelling like a skip, it’s completely free.
