Interview With The Very Most
LAYERS AND LAYERS AND LAYERS OF SUNSHINE-FUELLED MELODY
Our collaborative project with EardrumsPop is going great guns and now boasts a rather impressive list of alumni. As well as Tiny Fireflies, Paperfangs, Sometimes Always, Alison Eales, Baffin Island, KooKooo Kitchen, Early To Bed, Far Concern, Boca Chica and Olafachada we can now add The Very Most to the growing roll-call. In case you’ve forgotten, here’s how the collaboration works.
EardrumsPop is an internet-based record label. They love warm and melodic music of all kinds, endorse collaborative working, and love helping to get good music and ace art out into the eyes and ears of the general public. They do not believe in money so their releases are given away. You can experience this warming generosity for yourself as they put out free digital singles each month through their eyegasmic website. Every single will include several songs and a cover version and the artwork will be made by their favourite illustrators. Where does Negative Narrative fit into this? Well – and I’m sure you guessed this bit already – the release will be supplemented by one of our world-famous, increasingly-in-demand intraviews.
The Very Most are an indie-pop band from Boise, Idaho, though with six members they are quickly approaching collective status. In a backyard studio they carefully construct layers upon layers of guitar, bass, drums, strings, percussion, woodwind, synths, vocals and effects to create their sunshine-filled melodic sound. In 2009 they completed their third full-length LP (A Year With The VeryMost) which is a compilation of four EPs themed after a different season of the year. In 2010 they released a new EP (Patricia). They’ve been cranking out the pop hits since 2002 and hope to be doing so for the foreseeable future. I recommend you have a peruse of these snaps, download our favourite track from the package here (it’s curiously called Congrizzle 4evzzz) and if you’re getting on well with everything that’s going on then go here to download the full single package and artwork. It’s completely free and utterly wonderful.
