Interview With Saturday Sun

FREE-RANGE, FOLK-FACED FUN

Saturday Sun are a quartet hailing from Swanage. They live in an abandoned school, play music and enjoy themselves. The band was formed in 2010, with Alex Hedley and Bill Merrick roaming the foothills of the Purbecks playing acoustic music in the radiance of the sun. Shortly, after good friend Alec Harrison returned from a trip from New Zealand, the duo turned into a trio, adding bass-laden soundscapes to their songs. Eventually, when they started playing with drummer Luke Kill, they realised a heavier, more versatile sound, which still remained loyal to their folk roots.

Saturday Sun released their debut EP on their own record label earlier this year and are set to play Eden Sessions in July. Why not download Borderline here and see if it floats your proverbial boat.
