Interview With Niko Niko!
RAVEIOUSLY TIPJILTING THE GIVIOUS
It’s EardrumsPop release time again, which means another artist taking snaps for us to complement their e-Pop single. If you’ll recall, said single features several tracks (including a cover version) chosen specifically for their warm and fuzzy properties, and some limited edition artwork, all downloadable for nowt. Following on from recent releases by Sleeping Policemen, Kids On Bikes, Cape Canaveral and Young Romance is Niko Niko!
Specialising in playing in bands you have never heard of, Bergen-based multi-instrumentalist Nickolai Nilsen has previously been in Soda Fountain Rag and Catastrophes, as well as his own project Princess Niko. Niko Niko! is a fresh solo project which aims to hunt for, find and capture the perfect pop song by fusing lightly salted contemporary indie pop with 60s folk, 70s guitar noodling and the occasional cartoon-esque melodrama from the 80s.
To see what I mean check out these photos below and download Cosy Places here. It’s completely free, but if you like what you hear then head over to EardrumsPop’s Bandcamp, where you can also download the brilliantly titled How I Raveiously Tipjilted The Givious On A Sunday Morning and contribute financially to the ongoing project (should the keeper of your purse strings allow).
