As well as enjoying an enviable punctuation/words ratio of 1:1, Look, Stranger! make space-age bachelor pad music from a vision of the future which belongs firmly in the past. This London four-piece have previously performed in bands with the likes of Charlie Fink, Laura Marling and Marcus Mumford, however despite (or even in spite of) their previous dalliances, Look, Stranger! do not make banjo-licked, tear-laced, patchouli-oiled, nu-folk. With drifting rhythms, capricious melody swings and shadowy harmonies, their songwriting is far more than just stylish posturing, and every now and then a real, meaty, beaty heart surfaces from within.
