Interview With Dimbleby & Capper

SHIFTY DRUMS, MONOLITHIC BASS AND TURBULENT TRIUMPH

Dimbleby & Capper may sound like a pair of notorious 18th century outlaws, a cobbler’s shop or a crack legal team, but it ain’t like that. Rather, it is the moniker adopted by Laura Bettinson (singular) for her explorative forays into the left field. She’s been making waves for a while now, surprising and delighting with her EP Slick Maturity last year and now returning to nurture the spring shoots of her early success with new single Let You Go.

Laura surrounds herself with shifty drums, monolithic bass and quietly caustic guitar-noise – pitching the various sounds against each other before allowing them to resolve into a sweetly lilting oily pool of audio adventure. The vibe is equal parts tumult, triumph, paranoia and joy. It’s uncertain, ambiguous and intriguing.

Let You Go is out tomorrow (you can buy it here) through our good friends at TAPE . You can also download the flipside of Dimbleby & Capper’s single (Raise It Right) here for nowt, and do please browse the photos – there’s a confirmed kill, Father Christmas getting sick and probably some other stuff that’s slightly NSFW.
