Formed from the ashes of instrumental post-rock heroes Souvaris, Cantaloupe make soothing instrumental pop music which combines the best moments of classic video games, 1970s movie soundtracks, Chicago house and progressive pop. Harnessing all of the most colourful, rhythmic and downright fun elements of their former band, Cantaloupe bundle together an infectious blend of quirky pop.
The Nottingham-based trio release their debut four-track (Teapot EP) through (the brilliant) Hello Thor Records later this month. You can download one of the tracks (Scuttle) here for nowt (and check out the title track’s video below). It’s a hot-pot of electronica bubbling over with warm blips and tickling tones; an audio jacuzzi of sorts. Take off your pants and jump in.
