Interview With Camden Crawl

4-6 MAY 2012

For two nights in May the pubs and clubs of Camden are taken over by music, all in the name of the Camden Crawl. After a short tube ride to the wristband exchange, plans had to be made about what acts to see. Aided by a pint or two at The Abbey Tavern, we enjoyed sets from Zun Zun Egui, and Francois & The Atlas Mountains. Then we took a quick walk to The Monarch to see Fever Fever and Bo Ningen, who didn’t just set up but also limbered up.

By day two we were sore from moshing to Bo Ningen so we refuelled before hitting Koko for Rolo Tomassi and then Underworld for Devin and Peace. It’s good not to stay in one place too long so we hot-footed it to The Cuban for Dutch Uncles. We shimmied off into the night, only to be reminded on the way home about the importance of ear protection. After two tinnitus-inducing nights with the volume turned up to eleven, it was a sobering end to our Camden Crawl.
